Emerson Brooking
Some thirty years ago, I was certified by the Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level and have taught many souls Integral Yoga classes. In addition, I taught relaxation and meditation/prayer skills using biofeedback. Experience teaches me that everyone can learn them and, if practiced regularly, more peace, joy, and love emerge. I served as Chair of the Psychology Department at Piedmont University. When I began, I had three psychology majors. When I retired, ten percent of the University majored in psychology. Psychology had more majors than any other program in the School of Arts and Sciences. I told all Piedmont students, “If you want to have a good marriage, take the Marriage and Family course. If you want to have a great sex life, take the Human Sexuality course, If you want to be peaceful and happy for the rest of your life, take the Stress Management course.” My most popular course was Stress Management. There students learned and practiced relaxation and meditation/prayer skills using biofeedback. When students heard they could be more peaceful and happy the rest of their lives, they registered. They often came from Schools of Nursing, Business, and Education. Years ago, I published my Spiritual Autobiography and Meditation Handbook. Later, I published my Meditation Handbook. I made both books free on Google Play, which serves over sixty countries. They have now been downloaded over thirty thousand times around the world. They are also free on my website, .pantherbrook.com. Each book contains sufficient information to begin or deepen a relaxation and meditation/prayer practice. I am about to turn eighty years old and have devoted my life to teaching others ways to enrich their lives, to live a more abundant life. I am most happy serving others! I have served hippies in Atlanta, adjudicated children in Miami, developmentally disabled in Pennsylvania, and mental health clients in North Carolina. I am in my forty-first year of a meditation/prayer life. In 1985, in Thailand, I learned a meditation that allowed me to experience God’s presence. It is a bliss of which I never tire! I found my addiction to drugs, alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco disappeared. When I consumed these substances, I could no longer
experience God’s presence. In each case, I had to choose between my addiction and God—God won every time!!!

Yoga found me in 2011 at the age of 50. I immediately fell in love with the physical practice, and the invitation to be kind to myself, and ask what does this body need today? So I began my yoga journey. I completed my 200 hour teacher certification in 2014. I have taken 300 + hours of continuing education. I have been a member of the Yoga alliance since 2014. My passion is to help others appreciate their bodies, and discover the depths of this beautiful practice
